Dr. Bernard Kasten – Chairman
Dr. Kasten is a graduate of Miami University, Oxford Ohio, BA Chemistry 1967, and the Ohio State University College of Medicine MD 1971. Dr. Kasten is the author of “Infectious Disease Handbook” 1st through 5th Editions 1994-2003 and the “Laboratory Test Handbook” 1st through 4th Editions 1984-1996 published by Lexi-Comp Inc. Hudson, Ohio. He has been active with the College of American Pathologists (CAP) serving as Chairman of the Publication Committee 1985-1993, Management Resources Committee 1993-1998 and Chairman Internet Editorial Board 1999-2003, and founded CAP Today the organizations’ highly successful monthly tabloid magazine.
His professional staff appointments have included the Cleveland Clinic, Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, the Bethesda Hospitals and Quest Diagnostics. Dr. Kasten served eight years,1996-2004 at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated [NYSE-DGX] where he was Chief Laboratory Officer; Vice-President of Business Development for Science and Medicine and Vice-President of Medical Affairs of a Quest Diagnostics wholly owned subsidiary, MedPlus Inc. He joined SIGA Technologies, Inc. [NASDAQ-SIGA] as a Board of Directors member in May 2003, and accepted the appointment as SIGA’s Chief Executive Officer in July of 2004, serving through April 2006.
Dr. Kasten is currently Chairman of the Board of Cleveland Bio Labs Inc. [NASDAQ-CBLI], Executive Chairman of the Board of GeneLink Inc. [NASDAQ-GNLK.OB], and also serves on the Board of Directors of Enzo Biochem Inc. [NYSE-ENZO].
John O’Steen – Vice Chairman and Director
John O'Steen has been a director of Cornerstone Brands since September 1995 and has served as Executive Vice President, Operations and Executive Vice President Business Development until his retirement in 2004. Mr. O'Steen co-founded Frontgate Catalog and was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Frontgate from 1991 to 1998. From 1967 to 1984, he served in various management positions at The Proctor & Gamble Company. From 1984 to 1990, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer and a director of Cincinnati Microwave, Inc., a direct marketer and manufacturer of radar warning receivers and other electronic products and services. He also serves on the boards of Kulicke and Soffa Industries, Inc. and Riggs Heinrich Media, Inc.
Chris Riggs – President and CEO
Mr. Riggs is the President and CEO of Riggs Heinrich Media, Inc. and its digital publishing division, iMirus. Mr. Riggs has 17 years of general management experience with start-up companies. Mr. Riggs began his career with the international consulting firm Argent Consulting where he became the General Manager of the Healthcare Consulting division.
From 1995 to 1997, Mr. Riggs worked for MedPlus, Inc., as Director of International Operations where he helped the small public company expand into international markets. In 1997, the company was acquired by Becton Dickinson, a multi-billion dollar public company, where Mr. Riggs became the Director of Strategies and Consulting for its technology start-up.
From 2000 to 2003, Mr. Riggs was Vice President and General Manager of Portal Programs for Quest Diagnostics where he managed a $54 million P&L.
In 2003, Mr. Riggs and Mr. Heinrich started Riggs Heinrich Media, Inc.
Mr. Riggs holds BS degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management from Oklahoma State University and has an executive MBA in Leadership and Management from American University in Washington D.C.
Rocky D. Heinrich – Secretary and Director
Mr. Heinrich is the co-founding partner in Riggs Heinrich Media, Inc. Mr. Heinrich’s background and expertise are in the areas of marketing and manufacturing. For nearly 17 years, Mr. Heinrich has been involved with helping build a family business into a successful small conglomerate consisting of the following companies: The Rockland Corporation, Rockland International, The Rockland Mine, TRC Nutritional Laboratories, U.S. Naturals, Inc., Ace Custom Packaging and Liquid Assets, Inc. The family conglomerate is also involved with other companies including: a water filtration company, cleaning chemical company, book publishing company and travel agency. The Heinrich family also owns mining leases and has a foreign ranching company.
Mr. Heinrich holds a B.S. in Marketing from San Diego State University.
Peter Tierney – VP of Technology
Mr. Tierney has developed numerous commercial software products with a wide-range of operating systems, programming and user interface tools including: Windows 98/NT/XP, Unix (Solaris), Linux, Mac OS 9 & OS X, JavaScript, PERL, SQL, HTML, DHTML, XML, XHTML, Lingo, ActionScript, J2EE, Flash and Director and has experience with multiple database systems and platforms including Informix, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Sybase and Access.
From 1996 to 1997, Mr. Tierney worked for Brothers & Company, an advertising and public relations firm, developing its New Media programs. In 1998, Mr. Tierney worked for Communicating Arts leading the design and multimedia division. From 1998 to 2004, Mr. Tierney was the Senior Systems Architect for the Society of Exploration Geophysicists where he developed a system to manage submissions for publication.
Mr. Tierney has a BS degree in Business/E-Business from the University of Phoenix.
Jason Brimer - VP of Marketing
Mr. Brimer has over 20 years of marketing, advertising and e-business experience. A founding partner of CCB Creative Marketing, Mr. Brimer’s full-service agency was on the forefront of digital publishing, Web creation and interactive marketing. Mr. Brimer spent several years as the VP of Marketing and Operations with Flight Concepts, an aircraft charter and management firm before joining Fair Isaac. At Fair Isaac Mr. Brimer had the opportunity to work with several Fortune 500 clients, producing analytics-driven marketing and advertising campaigns.
